Rutland Water is a magnet to me. Paintings are inspired
by moments and feelings experienced on, in and near this
fabulous play-ground in the midst of our gently undulating
county. Walking on frozen margins or even sledging right
down into the water (unintentionally) or being in the woods
and open landscape nearby, are great ways to get to see
what’s occurring throughout the seasons and I find much
to make a visual statement that expresses my point of
view.
Whether spending the whole day sitting amongst
bluebells with squirrels, rabbits, the occasional fox, deer,
birds and insects as company; hearing the muffled
conversations of walkers, cyclists and pony trekkers
drowned out by a swarm of bees, or fishermen and sailors
calling to each other on the water. Or simply being at the
water’s edge, below freezing, watching freshly applied
paint turn to ice. I love being there catching it all.
Dimensions of paintings do not include mount
and frame.
Some paintings are 'float' mounted and some have the traditional 'window' mount.
All works are on paper and behind glass
unless stated otherwise.
Paintings are now available for purchase.
